Cornhole-a-Palooza League - Sundays

If you can toss a bean bag into a hole while holding your beer, it's possible that YOU could be the one to lead your team to victory in Hub Town's "CORNHOLE-A-PALOOZA" cornhole league!  But don't worry if you have never played before because this FUN LEAGUE has one goal...to be the best day of your week!  AND if you join ANY of our cornhole leages, you automatically have first dibs at our up and coming FALL/WINTER indoor league...because if you haven't learned this already, you're going to get addicted to this crazy game and you won't want to miss out!

If you choose to join us, here's how it will work:

HUB TOWN CORNHOLE League:

1. League will have SIXTEEN (16) teams in total.

2. Teams of two (2) people minimum (must be 16+) - you may have more players per team (at the same team fee) and if you sign up as a pair or single, we will help to find you a team.

3. Cost to sign up is $120/team. Individuals can sign up for $60

4. Games are played between 12:00pm - 4:00pm - boards will be available as early as 11am to "warm up" so feel free to come early!

5. YOU decide when you play and how many times  - this means you can play as many games as you want, against as many teams as you want in the 4hr timeframe. When you're done, report your wins and watch your team race to the top of the leaderboard!  As always, game points will be earned each week and accumulated for ranking.

6. Two (2) players from each team will play each game - if you have more players, go ahead and rotate them in during the four hours so everyone gets to play.

7. If you can't make a game day, you can invite ANYONE YOU WANT to play in your place! This is a fun league and we want to meet as many people as possible anyway! 

8. Team will have a “toss-off” to determine who goes first. This means, one (1) person from each team throws one bean bag at the hole and closest goes first. After that, the team that lost the previous game will begin the next game.

9. Each game won will earn the team one (1) point - accumulated for ranking.

10. Each team will be awarded one (1) attendance point daily for showing up with both team members - accumulated for ranking.

11. Teams will each vote for the "most fun team" each day and the team with the highest votes, earns points toward a special prize at the end of the season!

12. TOTAL POINTS (game points plus attendance points) will be displayed on the leader board weekly.

13. The team(s) with the highest TOTAL POINTS at the end of the season "WIN" but don't forget, there's always a playoff series and end of season party to round it all out, so make sure to save the date -  SUNDAY, August 27th, because its going to be REALLY FUN!

IMPORTANT LEAGUE DATES:

• Season starts: Sunday, May 7th/2023
• Season ends: Sunday, Aug 20th/2023
• Wrap up tournament: Sunday, Aug 27th/2023

Note:

· Teams of two (2) are required, however if you are a single, we will do our best to find another individual to pair up with. That will then become your  team for the season. If you want to have more people on your team, go for it!

The rules:

- There will be 8 Cornhole Bags, 4 of each colour to be used by two teams during play.

- You CAN use your own regulation bags if you choose but some will be provided if needed.

- The boards will be placed regulation distance from each other.

Cornhole Game Play:

1. Two teams of two people, termed partners, will play at one time. Partners will stand at opposite cornhole boxes on the same side, from the perspective of a third person, and face each other, so there is      no advantage given to one team.
2. Each cornhole team will have 4 bags of one color.
3. All 8 cornhole bags begin at one end.
4. A “toss-off” will determine which cornhole team will go first in round one. This is when one person from each team tosses one bean      bag and closest to the hole wins and goes first in play.
5. The team that goes first will begin play by throwing a cornhole bag at the opposite cornhole box.
6. A cornhole player may throw from anywhere behind the front of the cornhole box they are throwing from.
7. Game continues by alternating throws between the two opponent players until all 8 cornhole bags have been thrown.
8. If a cornhole bag hits the ground then bounces up onto the board, that bag will be taken off the playing surface and cannot score.
9. The cornhole game continues until one team reaches 21 or more points (yes you can go over 21 and win).
10. The team that wins the game, has honours to throw first in the next game.

Scoring:

1. The score will be calculated after all cornhole bags have been thrown for a round.
2. Points shall be given as follows:

• 3 points for a cornhole bag that goes through the hole.
• 1 point for a cornhole bag that is on the playing surface.
• 1 point for a cornhole bag that is hanging into the hole.
• 1 point for a cornhole bag that is hanging off the edge but not touching the ground.
• 0 points for a cornhole bag that is on the playing surface, but also touching the ground.
• 0 points for a cornhole bag that is hanging off the front edge and is resting on a cornhole bag that is on the ground (unless the cornhole bag on the ground can be removed without making the hanging bag fall to the ground, then one point is given).

1. The cornhole team with the highest game score, adds the difference of the two scores to their game score. Example: Team A = 8 points and Team B = 4 points, therefore 8 - 4 = 4 points scored by Team A
2. The cornhole team who wins the game is given honors to throw first in the next game.
3. Five games are played each night.
4. Make sure to provide scores to organizer at the end of your night.
