ULTIMATE Brewery Cornhole Challenge

We know you are cornholers, but are you the ULTIMATE CORNHOLERS? Here's how you know...

• You can play in two different locations - Hub Town Brewing AND Big Beaver Brewing!!
• You can play on fast or slow boards - yup some are slippery as heck and some not so much
• You can play while drinking beer (and beer cocktails of course)
• You can play in the light of a sunny summer day or the darkness of a summer night - ok the boards are lit up so it's not THAT bad
• You have a sense of adventure and truly live for the moment

Basically, you can play in ANY CONDITIONS and still come out victorious! Will you be the ULTIMATE CORNHOLERS? You have to play to know for sure. That's why we're parntering up with our friends at Big Beaver Brewing to bring you our first ever ULTIMATE Brewery Cornhole Challenge, and if you play with us, here's how it will work...

1. SIXTEEN (16) teams in total;

2. Teams of two people minimum (4 maximum - must be 16+);

3. Cost to sign up is $25/player;

4. Round Robin format -  guaranteed FOUR MATCHES - each match consists of 3 games to 21. Winning points will be accumulated for ranking;

5. Games begin at 5:00 pm in the bright sunshine, with playoffs kicking off at 10:00 pm in the darkness (on LIT UP BOARDS of course) - boards will be available earlier at both locations to “warm up” so feel free to come early!

6. Two (2) players from each team will play each game - each team member should be rotated in during the tourney so everyone gets to play.

7. Teams will have a “toss-off” to determine who goes first. This means, one (1) person from each team throws one bean bag at the hole and closest goes first. After that, the team that won the previous game will begin the next game.

8. Each game won will earn the team one (1) point (maximum of 3 game points per "match") - accumulated for ranking.

9. TOTAL POINTS must be given to organizer to determine when you play next;

10. NOTE: Games will be scheduled in TWO LOCATIONS:

• Hub Town Brewing: 41 Elizabeth Street 
• Big Beaver Brewing: 200 Southridge Dr #1013

11. Schedule (including play locations) will be sent out the day before the tournament so watch your email!!

The rules:

- There will be 8 Cornhole Bags (you can use ours or bring your own...seriously!), 4 of each colour to be used by two teams during play.

Cornhole Game Play:

1. Two teams of two people, termed partners, will play at one time. Partners will stand at opposite cornhole boxes on the same side, from the perspective of a third person, and face each other, so there is      no advantage given to one team.
2. Each cornhole team will have 4 bags of one color.
3. All 8 cornhole bags begin at one end.
4. A “toss-off” will determine which cornhole team will go first in round one. This is when one person from each team tosses one bean      bag and closest to the hole wins and goes first in play.
5. The team that goes first will begin play by throwing a cornhole bag at the opposite cornhole box.
6. A cornhole player may throw from anywhere behind the front of the cornhole box they are throwing from.
7. Game continues by alternating throws between the two opponent players until all 8 cornhole bags have been thrown.
8. If a cornhole bag hits the ground then bounces up onto the board, that bag will be taken off the playing surface and cannot score.
9. The cornhole game continues until one team reaches 21 or more points (yes you can go over 21 and win).
10. The team that wins the game, has honours to throw first in the next game.

Scoring:

1. The score will be calculated after all cornhole bags have been thrown for a round.
2. Points shall be given as follows.

• 3 points for a cornhole bag that goes through the hole.
• 1 point for a cornhole bag that is on the playing surface.
• 1 point for a cornhole bag that is hanging into the hole.
• 1 point for a cornhole bag that is hanging off the edge but not touching the ground.
• 0 points for a cornhole bag that is on the playing surface, but also touching the ground.
• 0 points for a cornhole bag that is hanging off the front edge and is resting on a cornhole bag that is on the ground (unless the cornhole bag on the ground can be removed without making the hanging bag fall to the ground, then one point is given).

1. The cornhole team with the highest game score, adds the difference of the two scores to their game score. Example: Team A = 8 points and Team B = 4 points, therefore 8 - 4 = 4 points scored by Team A
2. The cornhole team who wins the game is given honors to throw first in the next game.
3. Three games are played during each match.
4. Make sure to provide scores to organizer at the end of your match.
