It’s been a LONG time coming but today we finally get to announce the release of our FIRST COMMERCIAL BEER! After three long years of clawing our way through this process, Hub Town is finally bringing our first beer to the market and we couldn’t be more excited!
In a short six weeks, we will introduce our “1882 Okotoks Golden Ale” to YOU, the fans who have patiently waited while we built our brand and now our brewery! You’ve stuck by us when we wanted to give up and lifted us higher than we could lift ourselves at times, and because of that, we knew that our first beer to market needed to be about you!
A beer style known for being approachable, smooth, and utterly refreshing, YOUR 1882 Okotoks Golden Ale is no different. Not bitter or malty, but instead a classic, easy drinking style that won't disappoint when it fills your senses with sweet, fruity, aromas, this beer was created to remind you that although "WINTER IS HERE," spring is right around the corner.

We are so proud to announce that we are partnering up with one of our favourite local pubs in Okotoks, known for having the biggest selection of local craft beer on tap, John Henry’s Pub (Tom’s House of Pizza)!!
As craft beer beacons in Okotoks, and true supporters of local beer, you can see why this pairing makes sense to us! And let us be super clear…this is the ONLY place you’ll be able to try the 1882 Okotoks Golden Ale until we open our brewery doors!! It will NOT be available anywhere else!

This is where the last exciting season of Game of Thrones comes in!
If you haven’t noticed, we are HUGE Game of Thrones fans…but in all honesty it wasn’t always that way. In fact it’s much like my beer journey...we didn’t even like the show the first time we watched it! But because we kept our minds open and expectations in check, a few episodes in we were hooked!
I mean seriously, how can you resist a show that insights a coaster of emotions like hate, love, empathy, frustration, hope, disgust, disappointment and elation while watching each unbelievable episode?! And with only SIX episodes left in this FINAL season of the series, we wanted to send it out and bring in our beer with a bang! That’s why this beer release will be a SIX-PART adventure!
On April 14th, we start this adventure in John Henry’s pub where our beer will be available for you to try, and will stay there for SIX WEEKS! You won’t be able to find this release anywhere else and when it’s gone, you won’t see it again until our brewery is up and running!
But that’s not it… 50 of you will have the chance to get your own branded, commemorative CHALICE, to keep and drink the 1882 Okotoks Golden Ale with us, while watching each of the last six episodes of Game of Thrones together!! If you are one of the 50, you will be given the chance to RSVP before each episode to guarantee entry on any or all of the six episode nights! If you are not one of the 50, don’t worry, you will still get to try the beer, you just won’t be able to guarantee entry and if you know John Henry’s, you know the capacity is limited so first come, first served!

On Sunday, March 10th at 9:00 am, the chalices will be up for grabs right on our website (www.hubtownbrewing.com) for ANYONE to purchase. A few will even be given away!! BUT…you will need to know your Game of Throne quotes so start studying! And unless you’re purchasing your chalice (to ensure you get in on this adventure with us), keep a VERY close eye on our social media so you can WIN your way in!
Oh and by the way…this is not the only event your chalice will be good for…it will serve as your entry into EVERY event like this going forward…that’s right, this is a BIG event…but there will be more! So keep your chalice safe because it is your forever entry ticket to events like these!
