Introduction to SMALL BATCH Brewing
​
Come join us for a few hours of talking beer and learning how to small batch brew. We will walk through the process including bottling so you know exactly how to get started while learning about a few of the styles you will be able to brew on your own when done. This fully interactive class allows you participate as much or little as you want while having access to Mark and Lisa, American Brewers Guild Certified brewers, to answer all of your burning brewing questions. And if that wasn't enough, there will be a flight of our in-house beer ready and waiting for you to enjoy! We will taste and talk about each one so you leave with even more beer information than you thought you were in store for!

Join us at Tom's House of Pizza in Okotoks starting on April 14th, and every Sunday through May 19th as we all watch the last season of Game of Thrones together while drinking this crushable ale together from your own handmade chalices!

Hub Town HIDEAWAY - Valentine's Day
​
It was only 100 years ago when breweries and pubs alike were in the midst of prohibition, making the manufacture, transport and sale of alcohol illegal. It was thought that it was the "ultimate sin" to drink alcohol...which was when the "speakeasy" came to life.
A speakeasy back in the day was an "illicit establishment that sold alcoholic beverages," so called because of the practice of speaking quietly about such a place in public, or when inside it, so as not to alert the police or neighbours. In fact, these places were typically well hidden, with just a few subtle clues leading you to its whereabouts and a secret word or phrase was the only way you could assure you would get in!

Now here we are in 2020 and although we are no longer in an alcohol-restricted country, we thought it would be fun to bring back the excitement of the speakeasy right here in Okotoks!
​
Inspired by Betty Lou's Library in Calgary, we give you Hub Town Hideaway! But a speakeasy wouldn't be genuine with just beer and no exciting cocktails now would it?
​
This is why we have teamed up with our soon-to-be neighbours down the street, Firehall Distillery, to create a menu of beer cocktails that brings all the fun, boozy flavours known and loved, right in house!
But that's not it...we're also working with the incredible Soul Sugar catering to provide an assortment of two-bite canapés to savour while partaking of your beer cocktails, to keep your night in check - if you so choose!

In the meantime, each reservation will enjoy a 2.5 hr seating on Valentine's Day, 1920s "modern" music all night long and ambience like you've never had in Okotoks before!
If we don't sell out, we will allow walk-ins too but your food has to be pre-ordered, so wait too long and you'll be out of luck! If you don't want to risk it, buy your tickets HERE to receieve your entry password, then put on your "cocktail attire," (that just means leave your hoodies at home) and prepare to go back in time with us! Nothing too fancy, nothing too cheesy...just a room full of people enjoying a secret evening like they did back in the day. Come as a one...two...ten...doesn't matter to us! Just come to have fun.

OkotoberFEAST
If you know us, you know we LOVE halloween!! And since the town run Okotoberfest was cancelled, we thought it was a good time to take the two and smash them together into one, fun event!
​
Join us for the evening, dress up in your favourite costume (if you are adventurous enough...and remember, Mark will be in his zombified lederhosen so you're not going to want to miss that!), drink from a STEIN, eat from the delectible, fresh, CHARCUTERIE feast that our friends from French 50 Bakery will have on hand and then enjoy hours of Folk/Irish/Fiddle tunes from local band, The Spokeshaves, for a night to remember!

And YES OF COURSE there will be prizes for the best costume!
​
Did we mention...we are releasing our "Don't Hassel the Heff" german hefeweizen on this night!? Of course we are! It's Oktoberfest...when else would you release a hefeweizen?

This is a kid-friendly event so please use your best judgement when deciding if your kidlets would like to see the walking dead...it isn't exactly the most PG event we will run but we trust you know your kids best and will make the best possible decision!

Enchanted Okotoks 2019
If you haven't been to Enchanted Okotoks, you're truly missing out! For ONE DAY each year, downtown Okotoks swarms with those who love fantasy! Celebrate medieval culture, vikings, witches, wizards, dragons, role-playing and cosplay at each and every turn!

So how do we fit into this day? We are BUTTER BEER LANE of course!
​
Stop in, grab a 10 oz or even a 20 oz mug filled to the top and overflowing with our secret butter beer recipe and of course more whipped wizard topping than imaginable!
​
But...that isn't it...how would you like to be "Harry Potter'd"? What does this mean? It means we will have THINK Photography on site today, taking pics of your little wizards so they can get a custom Harry Potter photo or movie size poster to commemorate this exciting day!

Christmas BEER FAMILY Dinner
Hub Town is hosting a Christmas Dinner with our Craft Beer Family this year!

Who is our craft beer family? YOU...YOU...and YOU! We can't wait to break bread with all of you just a couple short days before Christmas when many of us really need to feel that community spirit!

Here's how it works and how you can join us...
1) Sign up by purchasing your $10 Dinner Ticket...ALL of the money from sign up will be DONATED to the Okotoks Food Bank.
​
2) White Elephant Gift Exchange! Grab a small gift for exchanging...nothing lavish please...and enjoy giving and receiving a little something!
​
3) We will have smoked turkeys and a couple other delectibles on hand for this event but feel free to bring a side dish that you can enjoy along with it!
​
NOTE: Alberta Health Services has forced us to "CANCEL the Pot Luck portion of this event for your safety," so plan to eat your own side dish but not your neighbours'.

Did we tell you that we will have the Foothills Pub Chorus on site that day singing all the traditional Christmas carols too? They love it when you sing along so don't leave your voice at home!

LIVE MUSIC - Calum Graham
Calum Graham is the most talented guitar players we have ever seen...EVER!
It was 2008 when we first saw Calum performing at just 16 years old at the Spruce Meadows International Christmas Market...he was dancing all over the stage and playing the guitar better than anyone we had EVER heard before! That was the day his CD went home with us because his music was something we needed much more of!
For years following, his music came with me on every business trip and was an incredible companion on the long trips on my own. Fast forward three years and we (Mark and I) were getting married...the only musician we could imagine at our wedding was Calum, because his music was beautiful in every way.
Now here we are 9 years later and Calum is coming back into our lives for one night, February 8th/2020, to play his incredible music for you, right in our brewery! Known as "one of the world's top 30 guitarists," according to Acoustic Guitar Magazine (and we would agree), his is a show you won't want to miss! We wouldn't miss it for the world.

Every brewery has a story, and that story is best told by those who actually walked the path! This is why founders Mark and Lisa Watts will spend an hour and a half taking you through Hub Town Brewing, telling you how the brewery came to be and of course how they use their incredible wall of stainless steel brewing equipment to create a 1500 litre batch of craft beer!
Better yet, you will enjoy a taste of each of their beers on tap and get to ask all your questions to the two who know those beers best!

(he made me type that...Barry) He has made an impact: from his break out performances at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, Toronto, and Andy Kindler's Alternative Show in Vancouver; being featured on NBC's Last Comic Standing; to losing his virginity ‪on June 16th 2:52am… 2019; his (sex) appeal is undeniable.

So we have noticed that you guys are serious trivia buffs!! Not only that, you are adventurous beyond belief, often even wearing costumes to immerge yourself into the full experience!
This is why we keep adding more trivia nights for you to enjoy! Check back here often to see the new trivia nights that have been added because each one comes with the option to "reserve seating" and the majority get filled up very fast...you don't want to miss out!

All trivia nights start at 7pm so if you don't make it in time, spot will likely be given away to the smart bystanders hoping that you have bailed! All of that said, it would be incredible if you could tell us ahead of time when you aren't able to make your reservation so that those on the waiting list get a shot at joining us.

Attention Artists of all ages!
​
Have you ever attended or participated in an Open Mic? Are you not quite sure about how an open mic works, how to sign up, or what to prepare for?
Here is a little about how it works so you can come and confidently be a part of an awesome musical evening.
The Hub Town Brewing Co. open mic, hosted by Grey Street, is an all ages showcase and is all about music. More specifically, it is an ACOUSTIC open mic that provides 2 acoustic guitars, 1 bass and three microphones for your use if needed (thanks to our hosts Grey Street). If you choose to use your own guitar, piano or bass, awesome!
There are approximately fourteen, 10-15 minute time slots available for performers to showcase their prepared songs to the audience.
Upon arrival to Hub Town, performers will need to place there name on the sign up board under the time slot numbers available. Each performer may only start with one time slot entry until all performers are signed up. Once all performers that would like a time slot for the evening have been signed up, the remaining available time slots will be made available to performers that are already signed up, if desired.
Grey Street will open the evening by performing the first three song set, and opening announcements. The Open mic will then continue until the last signed up performer has showcased their set. (Or 10pm if no further performers are left).
Finally, please remember that It is nice to have an audience to showcase your set for after you have been the audience for all others who had their opportunity to perform. Due to this, we do strongly encourage all participants and patrons to stay till the end, whenever able. We do understand this may not always be possible so if you must leave early, please stay to listen to and cheer on as many others as possible.
Now you are all set to prepare your songs and come join us. Let’s make musical history!

COUPLES Brew Event!
Brewing brings couples together. We are living proof...together for eight years, we have never had more fun than while brewing because it's easy and all about us. Join us for this SPECIAL class on February 10th from 6:00-9:00 pm to celebrate and learn about beer and brewing. The Supper Studio, a charming little business in downtown Okotoks, is the setting for this class and we know you will fall in love with it as soon as you walk in the door. Bring your sweetheart and enjoy a selection of local food and bevvies while we walk through learning how to brew a one gallon batch of beer AND talk about six different styles of beer. Even leave with some goodies afterward to remind you of your special day.
